Biography


ROK (RHYME.OVER.KRIME) As a native of Los Angeles growing up with the influences of Rock N Roll and HIP HOP in the Nineteen Eighties and Nineties, "ROK" found himself expressing his artistic talents through the medium of dance, graffiti and Hip Hop. Most recently “ROK”, has collaborated with the like of legendary Music Producer SCOTT STORCH to produce ROK’s new single LIKE THAT featuring DB Bantino. The single is gaining rotation nationwide and worldwide through the iHeartRadio medium, with Worldwide tour dates in effect right now.

As a young man being from East Los Angeles, and struggling to find his place in life "ROK" signed with an acting Agency in Hollywood and started working as a Background Actor (Extra). By the late 90's While working Full-time, attending college part-time in the evenings, "ROK" made his move into music. What started as a "FREE STYLE" session with one of his friends in early 2002 led to several recordings on cassette tape, by July 4th, 2002 "ROK" had his first recorded demo.

On May 13th, 2003 "ROK" opened up for "XZIBIT", along with a then "MR. CAPONE-E" at EL RODEO night club in Pico Rivera, California. By October of 2003 "ROK" landed his first speaking role as an Actor on a SCFI Network television series titled "SCARE TACTICS" with host Shannon Doherty (Beverly Hills 90210). In August of 2004 "ROK" collaborated with some friends from Houston, Texas and created a clothing line titled "UROK".

By February of 2005 UROK apparel launched in Las Vegas, Nevada at the "MAGIC" Fashion convention. On March 6th, 2005 "ROK" was interviewed by Tony G and Greg Mack on KPWR (Power 106FM), a Los Angeles based Hip Hop radio station, and his first radio single titled "GETCHA BACK BROKEN" was played on the air. This created a huge buzz for "ROK" which led to meetings with several labels such as, Interscope, Universal, and Warner Bros. His buzz was gaining so much momentum that by May of 2005 "ROK" was the newest host of "LA ONDA TV" ON LATV (KJLA) a Latin based Los Angeles Television Network. In May of 2006 "ROKTV" was born when "ROK" was given an opportunity to produce his very own "REALTY SHOW" on V-Cast which can now be seen online worldwide. From performing live in front of a live audiences Worldwide at Hip Hop concerts to performing live On-the-air on a Los Angeles based television show as a hip-hop personality, hosting his own T.V. show, "R.O.K-T.V." on V-Cast and "L.A. ONDA T.V." (A Latin based hip-hop show), Tuesday nights on LATV (KJLA) CH33/CH57 on DIRECT TV. “ROK” not only serves as the host/producer/director of his own Realty Hip-Hop Show, but also is featured as an Actor and Hip-Hop Artist performing at several major Hip-Hop events.

In addition, "ROK" has been working on his sophomore Album entitled, "1ST ROUND K.O." which has already received very high reviews and will feature Far East Movement, Duane Darock, Bangloose, YEYO from the D.E.Y., David Rolas, Nick James, Baby Bash and more. The new single "SIPPIN' HENNESSY" featuring "Duane Darock" and "Bangloose" is hitting clubs worldwide with its international club debut in LONDON by DJ Hostile, the single is spreading from coast to coast playing at all the local hot spots. His prior release "SMAKDOWN" Debuted here in the United States and around the world on January, 3rd 2008. The singles, "GETCHA BACK BROKEN" and “CLOSE ‘EM DOWN” received high reviews and the singles quickly spread Statewide, gaining a lot of recognition on the West Coast and are still played on rotation in Los Angeles, on the following radio stations: KPFK90.7FM, KDAY93.5FM, KIISFM and KGGI99.1FM. The single is also available Nationwide on CLEAR CHANNEL ONLINE MUSIC & RADIO. “ROK” is always marketing his name along with the clothes and T.V. show to attract potential sponsors to assist in the efforts of brand naming his artist name "RHYME.OVER.KRIME".

“ROK” has been doing shows that date as far back as February of 2003 and continues to stay busy with appearances and event performances through out the United States and Mexico. “ROK” is not only seeking to sign with a well-established record company, but also looking to create a brand name in the entertainment industry. Recently, “ROK” received an article on ClearChannelMusic.com as a NEW! Artist with high reviews and also an article in RIME Magazine. "ROK" is also involved with a Southern California High School Tour: “P.A.C.E.” Program (Promoting Academics Thru Creative Expression) with the LAUSD. He continually makes efforts to work with the community and directly impact his target demographic, The Kids! “Rhyme.Over.Krime” feels that the future depends upon our efforts today and that the children are the main focus in his message.
